Always, when I'm asked about my trip to Iceland... I first get the "gasp", then the "how was it??". Before I can usually answer the question, the person asking ususally interjects with an "arg, it was beautiful wasn't it". As if its just world knowledge that its natural settings are easily some of the most beautiful, and breathtaking on the planet. Because It wasn't to me. Sure, its safe to assume that going anywhere that has to practically import everything because its an island, is going to come equipt with a mind-blowing scenery. I guess I took that "do not assume" stuff way to literally.
But really, the people... the cuisne, and more so the culture all captivated me. I was able to enjoy this experience with a great friend. If she doesn't know that was the best birthday gift I've ever been given, now she does. I only wish we could have been there just a bit longer, and that we got more time to see the other cities in the country. 4 days won't cut it for places this astonsihing. Here are a few photos from the trip out.
There is no photoshop here,.. the water that oozes from that famous lagoon is THIS blue.
I remember quite vividly when I was standing here, being able to feel the power of these rushing waters. Its intensity was startling.
This little guy got us all around the city. Tough little bastard.
